I upgraded most of the interior bulbs in my ES330. I used the Philips LED's that are sold on Rock Auto and Amazon for the dome and front door lights. Recently I bought some LasFit LED's on Amazon and they are also pretty good, much brighter than the Philips and more white. I'm using those for the rear door and foot well lights. Most of the plastic covers on the interior for the door and dome can be easily removed with some plastic trim tools. I bought mine at Harbor Freight a few years ago.

I got a set of LED bulbs that came with the plastic tool but I can't pry the lenses off. It doesn't seem to fit in the tight space around the lens. Very frustrating!!

When in doubt I always check videos on Youtube to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

Don't try and remove the lens! It is not designed to come off (probably have to mess with it back side), see this listing specifically the back side it shows how the assembly is held in place.

There might be screws in the sunglasses holder area? Check.

....looks like there is see here

Of course. But it simply didn't work with my car. I ordered a set of trim tools in various shapes and sizes and hopefully one of these will work.

I converted all my exterior and interior to LEDs. Mine is an 03 though. Check out Rockauto for a great bulb guide for part numbers. Or sylvania website works too. Then just search them on Amazon. Make sure to get multidirectional bulbs. Aka 360 degree viewing angle. 5050 smds are good for interior but terribly dim for exterior. 3528 Multis are nice and bright

I have a 2003 LS430 and I removed the lens cover with a thin small kitchen knife. Just pry out the lens from the bottom where you see two darks marks.
