Default 04 ES330 just got timing/water pump replaced now has check engine light on

So my water pump started to leak and I got it replaced- important to not that the shop I took it to kept it for four days, continually baiting and switching me (saying I could pick it up that day then ghosting me for 24 hrs, etc). Soon after I picked it up the check engine light went on, light tester said “system too lean” and those I talked to said likely vacuum hose. I took it back to the shop, they looked at it and said every hose was fine and tried to insist the check engine light was on when I brought it (it wasn’t). Any ideas? It’s also important to note that the heat is out (has been for a while, blows cold air). I wondered if it might have something to do with the coolant/ heater core.

No heat could mean there is not enough coolant or air trapped. I suggest getting that checked before driving the car any more. Occam's razor strongly suggest they either didn't assemble the engine properly, and/or damaged something when replacing the water pump. What the specific cause is requires the car to be carefully inspected.

Ok so I took it to a different shop and they cleaned the mass air flow filter. The check engine went off and it stopped making the sputter noise when I accelerated- but now the check engine light came back on- it’s running / starting fine. What would you suggest? Ought I to get the codes retested? Replace the MAF sensor? Could the shop from before still have caused this (I also asked them to do an oil change, but I don’t think they could’ve done anything to damage the MAF sensor, right?)

Need to know what code(s) are set or we're flying blind. I think it is likely the shop damaged something.
