about 6 to 8 months ago there was a detailed explanation on how to do the rewiring for the GS so that you could turn on the fog lights with the parking lights instead of the headlights. The ES should not be much different.

It was posted in the lighting forum. you could ask someone that frequents that section.

I can turn my fog light on with the parkers?... In my 96. All I have to do, is put my park lights on. And then I turn the little switch next to that for my fogs, and wallah. On they come? I just assumed that was the norm for all the cars? I dont need to have my headlights on in order for my fogs to work?... Curious?

I'm sorry to say this but I don't think that works for all the ES300s here (at least from what I'm aware of). When just the parking lights and fog lights are switched 'ON', only the parking lights are actually 'ON'. Most of the German cars like BMW and Mercedes-Benz have a separate fog light switch from the rest of the light switches so that you could turn just turn the parking and fog lights on.

On my switch at the side of the Steering wheel. I have the main switch for the headlights. And then I have another switch inside of that . I turn it on, and my Fog lights come on.. I dont need to put my headlight switch on to headlights. I just move it to the parker light position. and then my fog lamps will come on.. My fog lights come on if I am using parker lights, or headlights. How do I know this. I looked?.. Then again. My vehicle is a Rebadged 96 Toyota Windom. Maybe we got more features here in Japan... There are 2 positions on the switch. Parker lights. and Headlights. If I was to just turn on the fog lights. They would not work. But if I move the headlight switch to parker or headlight. then the fogs will work.. I can use my fogs with either...

That's interesting to have on your Windom, Chris Could you possibly post a pic of the fogs and parking lights turned on from your car?

You could rewire your fogs to your park lights or you could just be hood and disconnect your headlights, by taking the harnest from the blub. Then when you switch on the headlights on they won't come on but your fogs will. LOL.
