Default Hot and cold air passenger side cold only -

I have a 2003 ES 300 98k and have been experiencing a new problem - in cold weather when I turn on the heat the driver side blows warm air but the passenger side blows only cold air.

trying to figure out how to evaluate what the problem is if there is a bad actuator or something with the fresh air intake, would appreciate any ideas on how to get to the bottom of this

The driver’s side actuator motor is not as easily repairable as in that link above; the rotor does not come free from the housing and is fairly inaccessible. The trick in the link does work sometimes (I fixed my pass. Side one with that years ago), but also sometimes the servomotor burns out.

Here is some help on finding a lower-priced replacement vs. the lofty Dorman or OE part prices.

There isn’t a direct 4es aftermarket part listed, but other contemporary Toyota ones will work, as shown above.
