Default 2000 lexus es300 cold air intake

Hey so I recently bought a 2000 lexus es300 it has the snap dragon cold air intake and a cat back straight pipe. (I bought it like that I didn't do it) but my question is I have a CEL for air fuel ratio sensors and wanted to know how to fix it. I already put new sensors in so it probably from the cold air intake.

Hello,

What codes in particular do you have?

A lot of thought went into making the factory Intake System quiet and efficient, it is already taking air from the headlight area, making it an actual Cold Air Intake, here is a diagram. I would suggest taking what you have out and putting the factory system in, it's not hard to find at the junkyard, and it won't be expensive either.

As for the CEL, chances are you have codes for the Downstream O2 sensor, or Sensor 2, which is to be expected if you are missing the Catalysts, as its only job is to monitor the efficiency of the emission systems. This fix won't be as simple as the intake, considering the price of the Catalysts nowadays, unless you can find something that will fit your budget, you will likely have to bypass the sensor.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
