Default HVAC panel?

Hello first post here. 2002 ES300. Two fold question. One the HVAC control panel is almost completely blank. Only one or two bars for the blower speed work. Everything works fine I am just guessing what does what. Like blend door position for “mode”. I would like to replace it. I am planning on looking in a junk yard tomorrow at one. I assume it will be functional from the donor car……. Is there any issue I should watch out for like programming or anything? Or just plug and play? I am not sure but the donor car may have heated seats on the HVAC panel. My car does not have heated seats. If so can I still use the heated seat panel on my non heated seat car? Will I just have a couple of plugs that are not used?

Two. Are all of the ES300 seats equipped with heaters in the actual seats? I am sure it is a long shot but is the heater and the wiring already in the car and I just need the HVAC panel with the buttons by chance to make it work? Thanks

I don't remember seeing one without heated seats I'd say almost all cars have them. There is no programming involved but disconnect your battery before swapping it out.

Good thought on the battery. Thanks. Yeah I was surprised to see it without heated seats too. Not a huge deal here in S. Texas often but it was 14 deg F at the house the other day.

I finally had a chance to replace the HVAC panel yesterday. Junk yard part works like a champ! Under $40. All of the functions seem to be working properly and the LCD screen is fully functional. It has an outside temp sensor! Who knew. I did notice this morning that the temp up and down rocker switch seems to have a light that is not functional. I will see about pulling one from my original panel.

I had 3 wiring plugs on the back of the panel. 2 were definitely needed. The third one closest to the passenger side of the car was just plugged in to a dummy port. There were no electrical connections of any kind in there. Does anyone know what this was for? I will try and get a pic another day. Is this possibly the wiring for the heated seats? My car does not have heated seats that I am aware of. No buttons on the original panel or my junk yard panel. I am wondering if by some chance the wiring and the seat heaters are in there and I could just get a panel with heated seat switches and be in business. Any thoughts?

Click on the red, there are about 40 different instrument panel harnesses depending on options, one is if you have seat heaters.

Thanks for the update.

I just found a pic of a panel with the heated seat option. It has 3 plugs on the back that all have wiring connectors in there. So it appears that the 3rd dummy plug in mine is for the heated seats. And I apparently have the wiring in my car. I guess the question would be if all ES300's have the heated seat grids in them or not. I would guess that is something I should be able to see under the seat. I will take a look and see what I can find.

I was able to snag a bulb out of my original panel and swapped it in to the replacement junkyard panel. Super quick and easy, all good now.
