I've been having transmission problems lately, as some of you know, and yesterday I thought to myself, "IF I were up to making the swap and could find a donor car, would the manual tranny out of a 92-?? Camry with a four cylinder work in my car??" I know there is such thing as a manual 93 Camry and ES, but the chances of finiding either and especially locally are slim to none. The manual four cylinder Camry's however are everywhere. I know sometimes car manufacturers use the same parts model-wide, so I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible...

I would try looking for a 92-93 Camry shop manual to see if the I4 and V6 cars used the same manual transmission. If so, than you could probably pull off a swap from a 4-cylinder DX with the manual.
