Question Overheating Problem

Hey all,

I have a 2001 ES300 that overheats. I have replaced these parts that are related; radiator, upper & lower hose, thermostat, water pump, timing belt. The radiator fans work, the heat blows cool air, no leak but coolant reservoir bubbles up and starts overflowing. The most recent part replacement was the thermostat hoping it would fix the overheating. Vehicle has over 200k miles on it.

My next approach is to test the thermostat in a pot of hot water to see if the valve will open. I can feel flow in the upper and lower hose but what could cause the overflow in coolant. I am unsure at what to do at that point.

Hey I did some research and I will be replacing the radiator cap today!

I hope someone can help me out.

It was overheating before you started replacing parts, or afterwards?

Have you considered the head gasket?

Yes it was overheating badly before I started replacing parts. But now it takes a few miles of driving it before it overheats. I have not considered the head gasket. But I will consider that after testing out the new radiator cap.
