Default Parts needed

Hello, I need to buy one ignition coil for my 2003 es300. What brand should I put in it? I’m using the Denso spark plug. Also, what brand valve cover gasket and intake manifold gasket is the best for this car? Dealer price is expensive? Thanks

Hello,

The coil, depends on where it is, and how much of it you are willing to do yourself. Rather counterintuitively, I would probably suggest going with Used OEM, those are quite reliable, and they either work, or they don't, so unless it misfires, it won't have any unnoticed issues. A risk free (within warranty) option would be to get NGK Coil here, but it's a bit more expensive, and it is not OEM, so the quality may vary a bit from batch to batch. With all that said, whatever you do, do not get any parts from Amazon or eBay (unless it's used), they are filled to the brim with counterfeit, chances of you getting a genuine part are minimal, even if you pay the normal price.

As for Valve Cover Gaskets, there was a time when I would've suggested Fel-Pro, but not after I took the covers off for the second time after a few years, and they were leaking again, here is a thread about it. I am currently using Mahle set, they are an OEM manufacturer for a few German cars like BMW, though not sure if that's a compliment, here is a link, we'll see if it holds up any better.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
