Hello all es330 owners I had a question regarding the xenon headlights on my 2005 ES330. I tried doing some research but got some conflicting answers. I was in a front end collision and both headlights are now cracked/broken tabs one is completely shattered. Living in Hawaii parts are hard to come by and even used pairs are quite expensive.
Is it possible to buy a new pair of halogen headlights and swap the entire assembly out from the xenon’s? If I wanted to go from HID to Halogen what would be the way to do this if there is complications with the wiring harness?
thanks for any help.

You can do this but you'll need pigtails on the replacement units and will be splicing some wires.

if anyone is aware of this could they point me in the direction? I’ve been searching all over. I’d rather not hack up my wiring harness just so I can get road legal at night for the time being.
thanks

I don't think I've ever seen a connector that interfaces with the ballast connector, meaning you need a connector like what is on the ballast. You'll have to get creative, tap into the stock connector or cut the wires can always patch in the original connector later.
Or use a wire tap.
Or use a wire tap.

before the ballast connector and then wire them to the halogen bulb? Are all the other connectors on the wiring harness plug and play with the halogen lights?

Hello,
Seeing those wire clips even sitting at the store shelf is enough to get my eye twitching, hate them every time I see them, as it is an irreversible modification, something that can't be undone, and more than that, damage to the isolation usually means that the wire will start corroding from the inside, which can destroy the entire length of the wire over time, I've seen that all too often, even if probably won't be a concern in your region, it's still a thing worth mentioning for the future.
A different approach would be to still make an adapter, but a little differently. Here is a thread that describes how to de-pin a connector, your Ballast 12V connector sits on the Wires, take off the Connector Housing off of the wrecked headlight, then find a set of Toyota pins, or just cut the harness off of the Ballast, depending on its condition, then Crimp Headlight Bulb connector to said Harness. All that will give you a completely reversible adapter that you can always unplug and get rid of should you decide to go back the HID headlights, which I would strongly encourage, not sure I can go without them now..
Hope this helps and best of luck!
