Stubborn PS Leak ES 300 99
Hi all,
I’ve posted before about my stubborn PS leak, and I’ve improved the leak significantly, but it still remains.
so far, I’ve replaced
1. Supply Hose
2. High Pressure Line
3. PS Switch, seal
4. Intermediate Return Line
5. O ring on the supply line union
6. Clamps
Still, I notice it leaks like one drop per day. Which isn’t bad, but I want to fix it. Looking at it earlier, I noticed these two things, both on the intermediate return line I replaced.
Do you think the hose itself is not strong enough? The hose seems to be moist around where the clamps go. I went import direct from O Reillys for the intermediate return line, but now I’m thinking I need to just buy OEM from the dealer if I want to eliminate this leak altogether.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Hello,
As much as I don't trust store brands, that hose shouldn't have failed straight from the box, though it is a possibility with those unfortunately. Either way, the entire area is still covered in oil, so it will be very difficult to work out where the leak is coming from, or if there is any leak at all in the first place, it could be as simple as your Subframe being full of oil from the old leak that it's currently depositing onto your driveway.
Either way, before tearing into it again, clean out the entire area, then you can add some UV Dye into the fluid and keep an eye on it until you either spot a leak, or get tired of checking it every now and again.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
