2000 ES300 CV Axle Replacement - LOTS of fluid gushed out
I pulled the driver's side CV Axle on my granddaughter's 2000 ES300 - transmission fluid POURED OUT by the boatload!
I've watched a bunch of videos and haven't seen a gusher like that - is it something to worry about?
The seal looks OK, but gonna change it.
Possible overfill?
Appreciate the feedback.
Quarts of fluid gushed out when I removed the axle.
What matters is actual fluid level, I've had maybe 1/2 quart come out. Going by your picture that fluid is long past due ATF is supposed to be bright red not dark brown.
Thanks LeX2K. Yes I believe it is due every service in the book.
I should have drained first, but working and learning as I go.
I'm afraid to ask, but this came out with the seal - pulled it with regular seal puller - no abuse.
Is this part of the seal or the transmission? I'm looking at what here? Came out with CV Axle Seal.
