Default 92 es300 cpu

Does anyone have a reliable source for a good cpu? 89661-33180 is my units part #. . I’ve been dealing with flagshipone.com and have received 2 faulty units from them. First unit had bad signal to the injectors straight out the box and now the replacement they sent for it,has bad transmission signal ( no first gear). I have a good unit but want a second one for the future. Thanks for any help.

yes I’m getting a 62 code from the o/d light. However when I replace the cpu with a known good cpu the 62 goes away and transmission shifts fine.So your 94 is an obd2 ?Po753 is an obd2 code ...I’m an obd1 system, that being said if your cpu/ecu is original it can be failing or failed.5 of the 7 capacitors in my original unit were failed ..

Default Yes i have an obd-2 on my 94

I am going to order scannerdanner 's book. He has a lots of wire diagnostic youtubes. I have a Lexus repair manual for my model, being new to diagnostics i would have to go slow but how would u suggest i ckout my ecm? Can u sometimes see swollen capacitors like on my outside home heat pump? On an ecm that would be fairly small of course, lol. What kind of electronic shop could replace those capacitors or just ck junkyards for the same part number ECM? Greensboro, NC

Yeah ,you can see them leaking .Most always the electrolytic fluid will run down the leg(s) of the capacitor.Depends on your vision, you may need a magnifier of some kind ,like your phone (picture) etc..it’ll leave a stain/discharge on the board under the cap.I’ll add some pics for ya…My kid is an electronics tech ,and repaired mine.I know how but I’m old and my vision and don’t have the steady hands anymore.the kid is much better than I ever was .If your boards are not ruined my kid can do it for ya,Btw we are in SC ,you could mail it etc..pretty sure we already have the caps … That’d be up to you of course ..

You can try to find one at a junk yard but I’ve had no luck.I’m trying to get a rehabbed unit online as a backup unit…My kid can’t get access to the equipment needed to fully dump and reprogram one.,like the big rehabbers do.

Default Great detail and pics!

After the capacitors replaced is the reprogramming necessary? and where would I get reprogramming if needed,? What town in SC? Procedure is to disconnect neg battery terminal, maybe glove box removed or footwell panel, disconnect ecm, how is ecm opened, screws, bolts? For inspection. Thanks, my Lexus pictured!

No programming is needed the ECU is far too primitive for that, a good thing. Removing the ECU cover will be very obvious when you see it.

Default Thank you for info, only 47k miles

Most likely cspacitors ok with low miles? Or maybe even though a calif car, age could have got to capacitors? I ll still have a look as fairly easy access i think.

Nice car!! It won’t need reprogramming .And yeah ,it’s behind the glovebox, just pulling some nuts along the bottom of the gb,once box is outta the way there’s 2 nuts holding it in and 4 plugs/connectors (pull the plugs first).4screws on each side of the ecu.once open there’s a ribbon cable connecting the 2 boards inside.
There’s guys in here that know a lot more about these cars specifically than I do.Just an offer to recap it for you ,if that’s what you wanted to do.. Lake wateree sc ..
