Default HID Headlamps

I’ve got an ES (2001) with OEM HID headlamps. Recently, I have been searching for new headlamps compatible with my vehicle as the originals are kind of breaking and you know… old. Does anyone else here with a post face-lifted OEM HID ES (2000-2001) know where I can get new OEM HID headlamps? I looked all over and every pair of headlamps I’ve seen online are only compatible with halogen bulbs not HID. There are a few that claim they’re for HID but turn out to be misleading.

Your only option is used and finding them in good condition is becoming nearly impossible.

I really hoped that wouldn’t be the case. So I’d have no other choice than to get halogen’s?

I wouldn't say no choice if you're patient can find used HIDs on Ebay but they won't be cheap. Or go with aftermarket and replace the halogen bulbs with LED. I'm thinking of buying these since going LED on my HIDs is not practical, the bulbs don't fit in the housing properly.

Thanks! Sounds like a good alternative.

Maybe. Some aftermarket headlights have poor optics others match the OE design exactly.

Seller offered me a good price so I bought the above set will report back. Maybe they are good or maybe they go straight in the trash.

I'm very interested in the quality. They have a pair of ES330 for a similar price. I did all I can do on my original ones but there is too much internal hazing/spider cracks to ever make them look good again.

We will find out. I'm not expecting OE quality overall but if the light output is good I'll be happy. Will need to do a salvage yard visit to get some bulb pigtails.

eBay is so heavily sided towards the buyer at least you shouldn't need to worry about the return process. They have similar priced headlight options on RockAuto but I've heard returns are a pain.
