As you can probably tell, it rained hard before but it finally stopped when I brought out the camera. In the background is the airfield for the municipal airport.

Thanks FLiP. Yes the scratch is still there, and I just got the Autovisuals paint pen for the cladding/bumper color, so I will give that a shot as soon as spring weather shows up

Cool

Very nice pics lexusk8, your looking sharp! One thing I've been trying to figure out on the 01' ES.......I have both the Canadian & American ES brochures, some have pics of the "ES 300" decal on the top right side of the trunk lid & some have it on the lower part if the tail lights. I have the "Lexus" decal on the top left side of the trunk lid & the "ES 300" decal on the top right of it. I wonder if it has anything to do with the equipment package one's car has? any ideas?

As you may know, the stock '97-'99 ES has the 'LEXUS' and 'ES 300' emblems on the left and right sides of the trunk lid respectively, and the stock '00-'01 ES has the 'LEXUS' emblem on the left side of the trunk lid and the 'ES 300' emblem on the right side tailight.

I have seen some odd badgings of '97-'01 ES, and that could be due to how the car came like that when bought by the owner. Never seen a badging setup like yours on the '01 ES, and frankly I think it looks kinda weird since I'm so used to seeing the stock look on the roads these days

If you want to, you could remove the 'LEXUS' and 'ES 300' emblems on your trunk lid to achieve a cleaner look. Here's a thread I did when I took out my 'LEXUS' emblem

Thanks for the tip lexusk8, intresting I must say. I wonder then why in both the Canadian & American brochures have pics of the "ES 300" emblem both ways.....some pics have on the top right of the trunk lid & some in the right tail lamp? I have to take my car into the dealer for a couple of minor warranty items......I'm going to check out the other 00 & 01' ES that they have available on their used car lot & see what they have. I personally prefer the way I have them now......they both balance & are perfectly centered, I like the fact that they are in chrome too. Had mine originally been like yours was, I probobly would have done the same thing you did.

It's interesting how times change Back when I was in HS, I didn't have a car of my own (partially because I got my driver's license at the age of 17, later than most other classmates). LOL I hated taking the school bus every day

If I was late for class (and didn't have access to my parents car) I would always say I "had car trouble". The teacher would ask what kind? I told them.....I didn't have a car!!! You can't get any worse car trouble then that!
