Interesting bump guys

Found a couple pics of an '01 ES with a rare front nose mask or "bra" in cardomain.com. Personally I think it just doesn't belong to an ES, but at least it prevents the hood from getting rock chips

Looks weird...... But if you need a bra, go with a clear one.

Cool

Get a clear bra that is glued on the paint. With a normal one you're trading rock chips for crap that get's under the bra and rubs into the paint. Also don't forget the UV fade the rest of the car will get, but not under the bra.

Those types of bras I hate, and don't see a reason for.

Guys! Guys! guys! If you get a bra you don't leave it on all the time! I just wanted it for highway trips. Ofcourse it looks ugly, because it covers the beauty of the lexus, but in return you don't get rock chip/dents or bugs! MrLexus, What is your bra backed with? I was wondering because i heard there are a few different types and I just wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna rub the clearcoat the wrong way. Also mr. lexus is your's for the 00-01 es? Thanks.

if you don't want the black bulky bra but you want the protection, may I suggest having the 3M protective film professionally applied. There was a web site mentioned about a month ago that talks all about it and lists prices and different applications. They will even suggest a dealer/installer near you.

I agree the black bulky thing has no place on the front end of the Lexus. I'd go with the clear film as well, there are 2 products that I know of. One is made by 3M as mentioned & the other is by llumar www.llumar.com I don't have one myself (quite pricy) but I have heard from a number of people that the llumar one is more durable, & is more clear for about the same price as the 3M.

I couldn't agree more. No offense, but I would never put a conventional bra on any vehicle for any amount of time. The 3M products (I haven't seen the alternatives) are fantastic for every application. If it's not put on by a seasoned pro, you can get swirl marks on the 3M film itself, but only on the darkest paint. Light colors like silver or white the 3M film disappears on. Please contact me with any questions on it. I don't sell it, but I am a believer.
