anyone with a 2000 ES300 have to enter a security code and/or get it from the dealership after disconnecting the radio? just want to be sure before i try this that i won't be held hostage to the tune of $100 or so just to get the factory security code from the stealership...

Hmm, everyone forgets about the real 1ES. This generation car in the pics is a 3ES, not 2ES haha...

All the button backlighting bulbs in the stereo are soldered right onto the circuit board, not in removable sockets.

my car has the exact same problem. the rear defroster and front lights are burnt out. how did you take the unit out and replace those bulbs?

Question need some info.????????

ok this is an old thread but has been very useful..thanx for that.
i wanted to know if i can change the color of the backlight in the climate control. does anyone know the size of the base on the leds? or better yet would i be able to use the bulbs in this link?????

^^There's 2-3 bulbs in there now, that can be replaced. And this is a challenge since they're a typical size, per say, but they cost 8$/piece to replace and supposedly the only ones that fit.

The other LED's in the console are soldered in, and relatively small.

ok thanx... i called the dealer this morning....they dont have them in stock but can order them... $2.25 each plus tax and a $3.00 restocking fee per bulb...lol...so about $6 per bulb...6 bulbs in total... i used the parts # on the first page... i hope this isn't too hard to do....

my scan/p scan and am/fm lights are out on my radio.....i'm guessing there soldered from what i read so my question is what size bulbs are they and anyway to get the right color? does the dealer sell them or are they aftermarket?

they are soldered in and the dealer doesn't sell the bulbs. your best bet would be to replace the cuircut board with the lights in it.....

gotcha , thanks

one more question...on the fuel/trunk panel...those 2 lights are out on mine as well......i popped out the piece but it seems to be the whole switch and no bulb, is this right?
