i need help on my transmission
okie i have a problem....like when it rains..and i drive thru a big puddle...my transmission intends to not shift anymore, and make a loud noise, and the rpm jumps to really high..but the car wont shift gears, but afterward it shifts normally again after i drive for few sec..so just wondering is my tranny dieing or something..or is there just a huge problem waiting to happen??? any help is nice

It's possible that the plastic splash guard (underneath your front bumper) either has a large hole or is missing, causing water from the ground to get kicked up to the radiator and affecting some of the critical engine components. Or the plastic splash guard around the front wheel wells is broken or loose there, causing the same effects. I'd check both of those areas first.

my guess is the water is getting on an exposed electrical connection or exposed wire that is directly related to the tranny. Take a real good look at any connectors that may be on the tranny. Uncouple any you find and recouple with a di-electric compound. These connectors may not be on the tranny itself, it may be a relay up under the hood that is also getting wet. lexusk8 has a good suggestion. That plastic splash guard will let in alot of water if it is not there.
