Default New Color Es 300

As everyone can see I madethe bold step to change the color on my 1997 es 300. The only reason i did this is because I was hit about 3 months ago by a small 18-wheeler and the whole drivers side was @#$%ed up so Ijust told myself to paint it a new color that I havent seen on a Lexus before. So waht do you people think?

i like the color, however not on that car... es300s look good with classic paints like white or black or a sage color, this is just too bold for this car... as far as the interior goes... the wood grain doesnt match, the steering wheels wood is different also, the chrome L on the steering wheel doesnt match the gold lexus emblem on your dash, i can see you did the cheap "chroming" of the grill... and the wheels are ugly, and the floor mats' tan color doesnt match the tan interior

just expressing my opinion and pointing out some flaws

edit: oh yea, get rid of the blue seat belt pads

Hey, I applaud you for trying to be different... But a little too... for the ES300... I would have went a little more on the silver side... Kinda like the new model ES's.. Bluish silver almost.

At first I thought WOW.. But the more I look at it, the more it looks better.. I am glad you were comfortable in doing something bold, so thats great... It wouldnt work as a two tone. But the color is ok...I think as a suggestion, the badges are what is making it a little over the top... I think silver badges would co-inside with the color a little more, and actually make it a little less busy on the eyes.. I have no problem with the color.. Just the badges.. Also, the wheels are a little on the full on side.. Put some nice prestiguous chrome wheels on her with chrome badges, and then your onto something there!....Lastly.. I think it would apeal to more people if you had a dark inerior.. The white and blue are very much in contrast... We all are trying to do something different.. Dont worry what other people think.. You like it. Thats all that matters....

It is different and bright... In your neck of the woods the color will stand out better..
How difficult was the steering wheel conversion?

Gotta disagree here.....this blue you put on looks better than ANY of the factory ES colors....except maybe for the Pearl White Oyster (always gorgeous). There's NOTHING in the rule book that says that luxury cars have to be painted funeral-home colors.....That is a bunch of total horse s---. It just seems to be the way the marketers THINK. The LS430 colors are even worse......dull with a capital D.
Enjoy it......it looks nice.

(P.S. If it were my car and I wanted blue, I would have done the ultra-bright Mariner Blue used on the Mazda Miata its first couple of years....remember that?)

I like the 00-01 door sill plates, classy touch

Are the drivers airbag and cruise control both still functional? I'm pretty sure the 02-up (from where it looks like you got your new wheel) is a two-stage airbag, while the 97s are single stage. The two trip computer buttons probably don't do anything on a 97, unless you figured a clever way to use them to control something else.
