Default What is a good oil weight for 96 ES?

What is a good oil weight for 96 es? I have about 114,000 miles on my car I just moved into a place were I can change my own oil rather than on the side of the road. So if you guys can give me a little help as to what oil& filter would work good with my 96 Es300 that would be cool.

Oil: 10W-30 high mileage formula. Change every 3000 miles if you use conventional, 5000 if you use synthetic. Don't ask which is better.......it has been covered over and over and over. Search on "synthetic" or "dino"

Change filter with every oil change.
Mobil 1 (M1-102), K&N (HP-1002) filters are great but pricey.
Toyota/Lexus OEM filter just switched to a new manufacturer, but if it is good enough for right out of the factory, then it should be good enough for your 96. 90915-YZZD1 I think is the 1MZ-FE new part number.

I live in Phoenix Arizona were the temp can get up to 118 degrees on days but the average summer time heat is like 105 -109 degrees should i maybe go with a thicker weight oil like maybe 10W 40

GO SOX!

I agree with steviej Are you burning any oil at all in between oil changes? & what have you been using thus far as far as oil & filters are concerned?

I'm not sure what i'm using. Mostlikly OEM Filter and synth oil. I use to take it down to the dealer and get the oil changed there becasue i lived in the city were there is know room to change your own oil. My question now is. Should I go with a heavier weight oil because it get real hot out here? Its March 9th and its already 90+ out.

I want to move to Arizona. It is March 9th and it snowed yesterday.

You could find out what you dealer used and stick with that. They should have it on record. If you ain't having problems run with it. My guess it is 10w-30.

sj.
