On the way home tonight, A drunk driver sideswiped me. The right side doesn't look pretty.
I'm ok, just wicked mad right now. The other guy was carted off in cuffs.
Here we go with the body shop stuff again.

Glad you're ok... Glad he got arrested... Really sorry to hear about it though.

The good news is that you're not physically hurt and the driver was arrested. You know he will pay a steep price for his actions.

 

Yes you being ok is the most important thing, and you're not alone when it comes to being hit by a drunk driver. Accept when i was hit, he ran and wasn't caught.

 

Oh No! Not your car. I hate drunk driver's. I sure am glad that you are ok.

 

I'm sure Stevie doesn't mind if I post a couple pictures of the ES right-side hit from the lame drunk driver (these pictures were originally from the LOC website).

Also, the following are the body shop's action plans to repair the damage (as written by steviej):

- The front door has to have the skin and shell replaced cause that buckle you see actually goes right to the other side.
- The rear door will only need an outer skin.
- The rear quarter (front of tire) will be repaird. They have some new type of machine that pulls the metal back to the original shape. If that doesn't work they will cut out a piece and weld in a new one. He said I wouldn't even know it was a new piece.
- The rear bumper has to come off and be repainted. The entire area behind the rear wheel is all scuffed....hard to see in the picture.
- There is a dent over the front tire, that will be repaired.
- All molding in that area will be replaced.
- There is some damage that can be see when the doors are open, that will be fixed.
- The tail light will be buffed, and if that doesn take out the scrapes, then replaced.
- Then the entire right side will be painted and clear coated.

BTW, steviej is currently vacationing at Key West, and should be back online by the end of this month.

 

I agree...the best thing is stevieJ is OK. As far as this guy paying a "price" for his actions....let's hope so. Massachusetts is a pretty liberal state....they tend to coddle criminals.
Here in VA you're in real trouble if you're over 0.08 BAC or higher....and get caught.
