Transmission Broke
Tranny broke on our '03 ES 300.
Weird noises and hiccups when switching gear 1 to 2.
Dealer looked at it, and decided it must be changed.
Luckily, covered by warranty. Now we get a new transmission.
Meanwhile driving around in a 2004 Audi A4 the dealer provided.
Good dealership service, but disappointing that the transmission would malfunction so early on (or at all).

How many miles on the car when the tranny failed? Just so you know.....this is NOT a regular occurance for a Lexus vehicle......just bad luck in my opinion. Gotta love factory warranty I hope all is well for hundreds of thousands of miles down the road for you!

Welcome to CL yevg, and sorry to hear your 1st post on this forum is about a failed transmission on your '03 ES Good thing your factory warranty is there for all your needs (at least up until 3 yrs/50K miles)
Your profile says you're from NY. Just curious, which dealership did you take your car in? The only ones that I hear any kind of news from are in Bay Ridge Lexus (in Brooklyn) and Lexus of Manhattan.
