I say anything other than stock is a mod.
Bulb change, clear cornering, leather change, etc. My car didn't come with the CD player option, so I would consider that a mod too.

Ditto that, you got a pic? Also was there any marks or indentations left when you removed it from the taillight? Kind of an odd first mod. Most people tint or put rims on.

Argh... sorry guys.. no pic. I just turned the car over to the body shop (paint blister after a repair from a deer hunting experience... they're fixing it under body shop's warranty) since I'll be leaving for Kauai, HI tomorrow morning. It is indeed 5 separate characters.
(Sorry, my desk is messy as all hell )
It's attatched by a rubbery sort of adhesive. All I did was let the car sit in the sun for a while, which softened the adhesive up quite a bit, and it ripped off clean.
I used a hairdryer to get the rest off. It comes off the taillight cleanly and doesn't leave any marks at all. If it does happen to leave some marks, then Windex (or any sort of glass cleaner) will take it right off no problem
I ended up buying a new emblem ($15) from the dealer and I just stuck it on the trunk lid. Pics when I get back, I promise.

Ahhh, that's exactly what I thought. Thanks for clarifying that up Rupp I knew the stock 'ES300' emblem in our '00-'01 ES is like that from the '02+ ES (that is, displayed as 5 characters). I think it'd be too much trouble relocating that same emblem on the trunk lid since alignment is more critical.
Looking forward to seeing a pic of the ES when you get back from Hawaii. Is your new emblem the 'ES300' emblem off of a '97-'99 ES by any chance?
