I remember when I once wanted more out of my 97 ES300......she was so beautiful and smooth and still is, but Ive come to terms with the fact that she was NOT built to be fast.....
Some still seek a dream of a 0-60 6 sec ES300.....but trust me fellas if you manage to get even a 7 sec 0-60 out of her I'll be impressed...Greatly!!
I still love her very much.....and she still looks good as all hell....but for my need for speed I got a G35 Coupe.........Trust me like the man posted a few lines above.....
Your cure for the ES's lack of pin you to the seat power is found in the GS and IS models....
Besides the rear drive and aftermarket is there for you ......I'm not sayin give up or forget it .....I'm just saying you may like I did ...just come to love her for what she is and may never become....
BUT damn she looks good dont she!!!!!!

True that extra 25 Hp put it at about what a 7.6-7.8...........still too close to 8 for me,
but you know its has nice power ....doesnt feel slow or like you are dying for more speed when you need it.....its just enough power for when it needs to do what its gotta do...which aint a bad thing ....now if it had like 165 hp or sumthing then we would all really be complaining!!!

Pretty sad that the '92 5-spds had 185 hp and could do it in 8 seconds flat huh? I swear it was much more of a sport sedan back then then it will ever be again.
I must say the toyota Windom version of the currect ES looks quite fancy. (cant attach pics, too big)

Yeah that is sure true......The ES is more about comfort , style and adequate power now....No sports left in that sedan.....but its a nice car either way....nice smooth power and fast enough to hold its own .....but in the todays world of performance machines all over the ES is falling short....
Toyota needs to cut the Crap and give the V6 IS300 250HP, bring the damn IS430 to the US, Give the GS430 340HP, and give the damn GS300 V6 the 250 - 270HP.......with the rep for reliability they would have many cross over that aint crossin over to Lexus now.......and slap on the extra torque that comes with all those HP increases...DAMMIT!!

first off..... seans car does mid 5's to 60mph and 14.1 in the quarter with about 5k of engine work....
toys, 5k of engine work will put my car at 5.1 and 13.1.....
for under 2k, my car will do low 14s and low 6's to 60
es just cant be tuned for cheap. sean is the only one who has a quick es, and probably will be the only one ever, bc he decided to take the challenge of makin the ES fast.
as for navid and this twin turbo project... i think there have been 30 or so NEW threads from NEW clublexus members claiming to be in the process of TURBO'ing their ES. NONE of them have succeeded
