How do I turn on the beep for keyless entry on a 97 ES300?
I just bought a 97 ES300, it doesn't beep when I lock or unlock the car with the remote. Is there a switch or **** to turn it on? I did a search but nothing came up. Thanks for any help.

I have a 97 as well and mine has never beeped. as far as I know from all of the leuxs' I have seen in real life whether that be of family or friends none of them beep but I really don't know if theres a way to turn it on or off. some might though so don't quote me on that. just my .02!

On your '97 ES, there should be a small circular **** control under the dash, near the driver's knee and close to the TRAC OFF button. This **** sets the volume of the beep when locking/unlocking the car. Most likely, the **** is already set to "no sound" position, so just crank it to the max and you should be all set.

Agreed! That's exactly how I discovered I had a "beep" in the first place. The information should also be in your owners manual too.

Thanx
hey, that was very helpful. When I first bought the car like 4 months ago it didn’t beep. I didn’t pay much attention cause my previous Lexus same year and model also didn’t beep. I figured probably because it’s old. Anyways after like a month it started to beep but very low. I really got happy cause I hate it when there’s no sound when locking/unlocking my doors. Then all of a sudden it stopped beeping again. That’s when I started to look why am I having this problem. I thought I knew my car inside and out. I guess not. Thanks for your help, you guys are awesome.
