Default Radiator fan running full speed during cold startup?

What is the normal radiator fan speed for 1st generation ES300 during the initial start-up?

Does it start only when it gets hot?
Does it kick on automatically at 3rd (full) speed?
There should be 3 speeds for the fan that kick in when the engine gets hot.

What controls the fan?

Maybe this is a problem with many ES300 owners wih overheating problem.

Fan is triggered by the radiator temp sensor. That needs to be replaced if your fan isn't going on and off. It should only turn on at a certain temp...and obviously turn off when it's reached a cooling point.
