Angry 93 ES 300 | Trans Shifts Hard...

Greetings,
I am happy to have found this forum. Well my question is that my 93 Lex es 300 shift hard between 1st and 2nd gear, does not seem to be smooth at all. I put in a new trans with 60k in my car.
Your input is very much appreciated.

engine mounts? if they are old or broken, the engine will rock during shifts, causing a shaking or thumping during shifting, especially when accelerting fast

Cool

Start by changing the fluid.

thanks, I think I may add some of that Lucas transmission stuff then and some new Mobile 1 tranny fluid.
Car has all new mounts by the way. Thanks for the advice, I let you know how it goes.

Ok, I put new fluid and some Lucas trans additive in, and it shifts a little better, still shifts more on the hard side, any advice to deal with this? Thanks.

Did you simply just do a drain and refill or did you have someone do a full power flush for you?

No, I did not do a power flush, all I did was drain the trans. I will look into it. Thanks again. I do appreciate your input.

Yeah, a simple drain and refill wont remove a majority of the old fluid in the tranny. Get the power flush done so you can get more then 90% of the old fluid out. After that, you may feel/experience better results. good luck.
