Here's a weird Question (who has the highest mileage ES)

Have you had the priviledge of owning your Lexus for many of her miles? Is she still in good shape? Anything the rest of us should watch for as we attempt to reach those kind of miles? You must do quite a bit of highway traveling..

For the most part I keep up with the oil, oil filter (Toyota part # 90915-20004) and air filter changes. I change my oil every 5K miles religiously (I use high mileage Castrol oil). I did change my power steering pump, radiator, driver's side front axle, head gasket, oil pan gasket, timing belt and tensior every 90K miles, cam gears which were replaced under warranty, water pump every 180K miles, changed my antenna, changed my fuel filter, pcv valve, spark plugs, both motor mounts, driver's side window motor and window switch, plastic part on my cupholder, change the transmission fluid every 30K miles and changed my tires (Michelin), brake pads, rotors, wiper blades, both O2 sensors, battery, drive belt (serpentine belt), both low beam headlight bulbs once (still have the original high beam bulbs), fog light bulbs and tail light bulbs when need be. I also changed my front hood grill because my old one fell off.
I do need to change my rear oil seal and the cam seal as some oil is leaking in those areas. I also need to change one of my transmission shift solenoid due to the CEL and I checked the code. I also need to repaint the hood, roof and trunk due to the clear coat peeling off. I also need to change the leather on my steering wheel and the leather on my front seats. I probably also need to change all four of my struts as they are still the original. Other than that my car runs like a champ. I strictly buy Chevron gas only.
I should hit 400K miles by summer time this year and I'll look forward to another 400K miles...maybe if I hit a 1,000,000 miles Lexus will give me a new ES?

A big accomplishment today. I just hit 400,000 miles this afternoon on the 210 freeway right around the Azusa area. I just finished changing the oil and oil filter last night. Here's a picture of the odometer.

Wow, keep up the good work on taking care of her. I should hit 250k in a few days. I was wondering do you still use your A/C on the car, alot of people say that using it may shorten the life of the engine. Mine stopped working recently (need to replace evaporator and expansion valve) so I am debating if i should invest the money to fix it or drive as is. Also if yours still works did u have to replace the evaporator and expansion valve?

You can save money by purchasing the parts yourself and have either yourself or someone else install the parts. Check out Carson Toyota or Sewell Lexus for the evaporator and expansion valve for a good deal or research other sites or locations for a good deal...good luck and happy driving. Congratulations on hitting 250K miles...

I have 2 1997s both white.
One has 256240 and the other has 186900.
The first one had the timing belt changed at 90K. Should go a while yet right?
Actually I am going to see how long the belt will last. I check it every oil change,
6000 miles with Castrol syntec. That oil has been used since the warranty came off.
Doesn't use a drop in 6K miles.

Congratulations! You'll definitely be able to go another 244K miles easily. Keep up the good work. I wish I still had my ES. I probably would be at 403K miles by now...
