red looking thing?

I recently saw a red looking thing on the top of the middle of my dash. At first I thought it was a LED light for the alarm but now I'm unsure. Does anyone know what it is? I took a close look at it and it looked like there was a small watch battery in it.

cant remember, i think its either a temperature sensor or your sensor that picks up the remote unlocking signal from your key

It's a sunlight sensor for the auto climate control. Next time you've got the A/C on automatic mode, notice that the fan will blow harder as you drive from shade into sun.

Newer Lexus models have two of those sensors (towards the driver's side A-pillar). One is for the climate control, and the other for automatic headlamp on-off.
