from MikeP. Not sure what the additional options and accessories include.

I saw this post at Edmunds.com and thought it may be of interest:

"Got a list of changes for 2005. For the LS the first arrivals (in port, not at dealer) will be 9/7. Only changes will be 18" wheels and tires for all configurations, and the availability of all season tires for 18" rims.
No change except pebble beach edition to SC, no changes at all to LX.
Big addition of options and accessories to ES (arriving 8/4)
new engine 270HP VVTi and sport package for GX (12/8)
RX gets 4th GEn Nav w/bluetooth, HID and AFS packaged topgether but separate from sport pkg, dropped Black Forrest/Gray and Blue Mica/Black (9/2)"

Mainly cosmetic from what I have heard, the possibility of a hybrid model but not likely till 2006.

Some more tweaking of the automatic transmission electronic unit that controls the shifting....this has been the source of numerous owner complaints in the last 3 or 4 years..

In the western area, the 2005 are coming soon.....on the next allocation which is late July or early August. I was told there are no tranny changes, all cosmetic. Including, but not limited to: grill, fog lamps, rear design, hands free radio controls on the steering wheel, and a 5 spoke wheel "17 wheel. Also, that dark reddish cherry looking wood is going to be replaced with the more natural walnut looking wood. And the Mystic Sea and Mystic Gold colors are going to be replaced also. The "Ivory" and "Grey" interior names have been changed to "Cashmere" and "Ash", but the colors are the same for that. Not sure yet about the Millenium Silver, though. We were only told that those other 2 colors were going away, but the Canadian colors differ slightly from the US ones I've noticed.

One of? There are two. The biggest is JM Lexus in Florida. Longo Lexus is tops for the West Coast. Which did you get your info from?

Probably they meant no "major' changes. And also the new GS is a 2006 model coming in spring/summer of 2005. And I heard no 2005 model GS's until then. There are lots of threads on this on the GS forum. So if you prefer the current body style, better get a move on......

When will the AWD debut on the GS? Lexus previously said it would be on the 05's. Now you guys say it will be next spring on the '06's. Has it been delayed? There is a LOT of interest in these forums on the AWD GS.

Sorry to get off topic with the GS, but I was interested myself, too.

I'm still not sure about the AWD, but I found out positively today: 2005 GS300 is about 6 months of small production starting this fall, then no GS's until next spring around March/April/May when the 2006 GS comes. And since this is the ES forums, if you have any other questions please PM me or direct them over to the GS forums....
