Tony spent ALOT of money to get his Camry to pump out that HP. His Turbo Camry 1MZ-FE is awesome but you gotta put into consideration, it takes alot of cash to build up the 1MZ-FE and the tranny. His 1MZ-FE has barely any stock internals left. If you've ever seen the rods of a stock 1MZ-FE, they're thinner than your pinky.

FYI, the term blower is commonly used with superchargers. Turbo is the keyword you're looking for.

ok woogie your not quite understanding me here. i never said i want to run 700 hp. i want to run a lil over 400hp but the blower will just be a unique thing on the lexus. and im swaping in a stick. but the mechanic im workin with will prolly recommend sumthin else. i just want to be a one of a kind lexus. i realize that the the body with the car will not last long on 700 hp. so u have to understand me here. u mite want a little big pimpin car but i was that and then sum. so u just have to understand my point of view. and yes this forum did get a lil carried away. but o well get over it. and im sorry but i just dont want a turbo ne more. i did. but everybody is getting ready to turbocharge there camrys and all that so ya.

Dude, I wouldn't do it but I won't tell you NOT to. As u stated it would be a rare beast and maybe the only one. It will take time, money since it will be a lot of custom work.

OR maybe you find a way to make it EASIER to turbo for all of us? Who knows.
With Lexus and F/I you got to start somewhere. Every Lexus besides 2JZ equipped models were not really for F/I. But companies and people FOUND a way.

We were told GS 430 kits are impossible. Well there is 1 now. And Blitz offers another.

If you have the resources to do it, more power to ya. I feel that your idea is a little foolish and I believe that there are far better alternatives than the ES3 to mod. IMO start with a better alternative and give the money you saved to your local church (anybody slams that..you know where your goin).

The best feeling in the world is to do something people tell you that you cannot do. Take it for what it's worth. Good luck.

lexus96.... sean mcelligott has more than 250hp, probably closer to the 300 range. and he hasnt turbo'd or s/c'd. so even if you got up there, you wouldnt be one of a kind. im sorry, anzchilds friend has a turbo'd es300 too... there are a few that have done it, and have spent LOTS of money trying to make a car that wont ever handle well, and wont ever be more than a faster ES, into something it's not.

its one thing to make a slow car go fast.... example, my a4. or a slow mini cooper. but why an ES? the more power you get, the worse it's going to drive. you will begin to get torque steer, and will still no be able to hit a corner with any speed in that car

Cool your jets Lexus96 please. You're the one that started the post with this statement, and other members are doing exactly what you asked them to do - give you their opinions.

By the way - reading your posts it seems you think that a blower is different than a supercharger?

Maybe I'm missing something or just mis-reading... I have always thought they are the one in the same (there are two types of forced induction.... superchargers (blowers) on the intake side and turbos on the exhaust side). The BDS website even supports this "Blower Drive Service is the nation's premiere manufacturer and marketer of supercharged engine accessories ...."

http://www.blowerdriveservice.com/specialists.htm

Is there something different from a blower vs a supercharger I don't know about? Tunnel ram on the hood?

Dave is right. A blower and a supercharger are the exact same thing. Blower was just a term used back in the 60's and the 70's back in the era of the 350's, 427's, 454's, etc., etc. The Muscle Car era. to say that the "blower is stronger than a super charger" is wrong because if its belt or gear driven forced induction, it's a super charger. If it quacks, then its definately a duck. If it meows, then it's definately a cat.

Well you have contradicted yourself throughout this thread. Like Dave pointed out, you asked for our opinions. We're giving you the sad but true facts. It's obvious you haven't really done much research on this platform or it's history. You will only be even more frustrated with your own project as you finally get to working on it and throwing away your money into an endless firepit. That's the truth. Face it.
