Unhappy Trunk

Anyone know whats up with the trunk lid not fitting correctly. Seems to lift up from the rear window area on both sides of the car. 1990 es250, no accidents. Do the hinges have to be replaced or ????.

Thanks

PS: where can I get a new antenna. (just the shaft section)?

Sorry I can't help you out, but I've got the same problem here. I've only seen 2 other ES250's in my life and they both have popped trunks. What is the problem with it? Is it due to deforming of the chassis?

I have a es250 thats totaled that has the working antenna. Also did you try to turn the trunk adjustment ***** I think I did that or "encouraged" it to close properly.

Trunk adjustment ****? Never heard of it! What and where is that? Do you mean the bolts that hold it to the hinge and chassis?

Also, welcome to CL! Hope you enjoy your time here!

Yea if I remember right its two little plastic pieces that spin up or down to tighten or loosen the trunk fit.

Sorry, I have never seen or heard of such a thing. Where would it be located? I took a look the other day and didn't see anything of that type.

Haha, you are right. Seems that the original poster hasn't been around for a while, so I just hijacked the thread lol.

Same way your hood has them should be all the way in the backby the taillights.

Oh, you mean those rubber stopper things? It is actually raised up nearest to the rear window where the hinge is.

So try lowering it and see if it helps. I remember I did something like that with mine.
