The 29 psi, 32 psi we speak of is cold (meaning ambient) tire pressure.
that is why you always chech your tire pressure before use.. As the tire rotates, friction builds up and increases tire temperature which in turns increases internal air pressure.
I check my tire pressure once per month. Tire pressure changes with the seaons and with the outside temps. Tires will also loose ~ 1 psi per month naturally.

You guys are right. The pressure was off, at 38psi !
I released some air, to about 31-32, now the road noise is reduced quite a lot...
But the tires looked 'flatter', seems not well inflated, I hope as long as the pressure is above 29, it's fine (wonder the $2 made-in-Taiwan pen guage from Walgreen is accurate, I can only hope so...)
Thanks a lot to all...

When our LS was in for some work, we had one of these loaners for 3 days. The ES 330 is a very nice car, it has many of the nice features though the refinement is a tick or so less than the LS. I felt the tranny shift, the interior sound dampenning is not as much and other little things.
My view is that comparing the various levels of cars, the ES is excellent in this particular class of car. I also took an '04 LS out and the steps in technology and build quality become obvious in a comparison. Some of the things we read on the net and such, boost our thoughts but in reality our pereceptions get an eye opening once we've experienced it first hand and become accustoemd to the little things we didn't catch on the test drive.

ES330 noise
What brand tires are on your ES330? Tires make a big difference. I suggest Michelin MXV4 Energy Plus tires, especially if you have Goodyear on the car. There is no difference in the way a 2004 ES330 drives and rides and transmission shifts than the way a 2003 ES 300 does. Both cars let you feel every bump in the road.
The car is a well built car, but lacks the ride a Toyota Avalon has for instance.

Fellas,
I really started noticing the bumps in the road when my ES330 hit 25,000 miles last week. I almost brought it into the dealership to complain until I noticed the tires were already in need of replacement.
I just hope you guys are right about the Michelin MXV4 tires as I will need a set in the next 2 weeks but, what are your impressions on Dunlop's Sport A2 or Goodyears Assurance Triple Tred?

If it's comfort and longer treadwear you want, the Michelin Energy MXV4's would be a great choice.
