2001 ES300 ody Side Molding
When I was at the dealer they showed me a catalog with all the options.
Of particular interest to me, living in NY were the Body Side Molding, remote starter, and low jack.
Anyone have any pics/links where I can see the BSM's on a ES300. Never seen one with it. They are charging me $495.
For the remote and lowjack, it's $695 each.
Rip-off?
Thanks!!!

For the body side moulding..
Are you talking about these mouldings?
The mouldings don't exist on the '01 ES. They are first put on the '02 ES, the model year where the ES underwent a total makeover on the exterior and interior design. However in the pic above, the ES is owned by a member from Hawaii, who mentioned that the mouldings were already on when he purchased the ES. They are most likely an addition made by a body shop.

Re: Re: For the body side moulding..
The side moulding found on those ES' sold in Hawaii are port installed options...meaning they were installed at the port prior to arriving to the dealership not a bodyshop.

So taking it off would it have the rivet holes from the moldings? clips? i would take it off but i'm just scared if the underneath will leave ugly holes from the clips. Also will the paint chip or be discolored?

If it was a factory piece on the other hand like many Toyota/Lexus side mouldings, it's usually installed with double sided and fastened down with clips and holes in the sheetmetal.
Lexus007 you have nothing to worry about unless they used heavy duty adhesive to stick the moulding on. If you're gonna remove it, use a heat gun and floss like as if you were shaving off your emblems.
