Default True statement ?

Pardon my ignorance, but is this a true statement ?

"Rotors must be resurfaced when new pads are installed, otherwise the new pads will wear unevenly, squeek and wear out prematurely."

Yes, It's a true statement. Generally, all they do is take off a sliver of metal off the rotor to "true" them up. If the metal left is beyond the suggested rotor thickness, then you have to replace them.

Of course you can replace the pads without turning the rotors......but this is not the best way of doing a brake job.

Yes, it's a good rule of thumb to have the rotors turned when replacing brake pads. This way the new pads have a good flat, unwarped, un grooved surface to work on.

It's a better rule to use this as an excuse to get Slotted rotors since you "have to" take the rotors off anyway I mean Safety First, Right ?
