These are proably all of the small features that have come in handy from time to time for me:
The visor for the rearview mirror
Seat Heaters
Cruise control
The black bag thing in the backseat you can use for skis (works great)

This is not quite a feature and is more like a compliment to Lexus engineering and manufacturing...
I appreciate how the trunk release does not launch the trunk open, but smoothly disengages it so it props up only ever so slightly. I have seen some cars where the trunk release resembles a jet fighter ejection seat, and the Lexus 1997 ES 300 trunk is much more elegant. I accidentally pushed the trunk release instead of the fuel door release at the gas station, and forgot to close the trunk. I was about toe enter the car wash when I heard a gentle creaking sound... I looked out my rearview mirror and didn't see anything, and then, right before I entered the flying brushes of doom, I realized my trunk was open.
I hopped out and deftly closed the trunk, sighing with relief that I didn't douse my entire trunk in suds.

Good evening
After extensive contemplation i have reached my conclusion, my favorite stock feature on my 98 es300 is how the ash tray and cup holder pop out after being tapped. i think the style is very incognito yet also elegant.

some thoughts...
As I draw near to the end of my '02 ES300 lease, I find myself noticing certain features and benefits which won't be on my next Lexus. The thing I will most miss is the superior Mark Levinson sound system. My cd collection has been in heavy rotation these past few days and the sound quality is unbelievably rich. Touch screen navigation system...what can I say...I am terrible with directions, this has been an amazing lifesaver. The great gas mileage. 20 city and 29 hwy is the best of any Lexus ever built so far. The wood steering wheel is so smooth and easy to handle with the front wheel drive. Very responsive indeed. Built in sunglass holder which I always use. Rain sensing windshield wipers and the 2 stage heated front seats in the winter time. Power rear sunshade when I want to travel "incognito". Super comfy seats with power lumbar for my lower back. Everything listed is a factory installed feature. Surprised? I was. When I really stopped to think about it, I realized some of these things I had taken for granted. My trusty and faithful ES300 will be missed.
