It does not need to be a new remote, as long as it is the correct model for you car it should work. The programing procedure is used the get the reciever into a "learning mode" so that it will recognize the key fob transmitter as one that it should respond to.

How to get headlights clean
people who have older cars have dirty headlights and they tried to wash it so many times but can never get it to be clear and shiny.

The air filter should be basically behind the the dash on the bottom. If you reach near the gas pedal, you should be able to peel the carpeting up and see a slot where the air filter isnt, or you should be able to remove it. If you google around for air filter diagram it may be better able to show you

"How to Remove Stock Stereo Unit (PDF)" for the 97-01, no longer works. I found something similar here.

Sit in driver seat, driver door unlocked and open, all others closed and locked
manual open/close cycle 5 times each
close door
open door
manual open/close cycle
...then nothing. No automatic cycling by receiver to confirm it's in program mode.
I even tried cycling with the power locks the second time as some have suggested... still no automatic cycling to allow programming of the fob.
Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated.
