Default Need Help!

I lost my only key to my es. Well, I still have that wallet key, but that doesnt start the car. How do I go about getting a new key??

Go to the dealership and tell them that you lost your master key to your car. They may be able to provide you with a new master key, but you'll have to pay full price for the key part and the programming (expect around $200-$300 for everything).

However, the dealership can also suggest to have your ECU computer to be replaced for security reasons. That can be a more legitimate approach, but this is a very costly item, at least $1,000. I've heard from others that Lexus grants a maximum of (1) "goodwill" replacement of the ECU computer in the owner's vehicle in the case of master key replacement. If you ask your dealership about this, they may be able to replace the ECU at no charge. Not sure if you still have to pay for the master key, but I'd imagine so. Good luck.

what about the blank keys that are on ebay? whats up with them?

You can buy those, have them cut and programmed as well...just make sure you get the right one for your particular model. But if they're the generic (non OEM) ones, you'll probably have trouble using them with the system.
