Decron III transmission oil for 93 ES300?
Lexus manufacture recommended Decron II for tranmission oil for 93 ES300. This was when Decron III wasn't around. Anyone experience for foresee any problem using Decron III over Decron II for a 93 ES300?

I put dexron III auto transmission fluid in a 1995 ES300. My owner's manual said Dexron II also, but on the case of pennzoil Dexron III fluid(and other brands) it said Dexron III is ok to use in cars that require dexron II. I think it said something along the lines of Dexron III is compatible with transmissions requiring Dexron II. I put it in my car at about 115K miles(now have 130K), and so far so good.

Most of the time, you can go up but not down..So you could use for example Dot 3 brake fluid in 2 but not 2 in 3. Same thing it Dextron 2 and 3.

It's not Decron or DexTRON, it's DEXRON. Dexron II is what's recommended for those year ES trannies. The newer trannies in the ES use Type T fluid...not compatible with Dexron/Mercon. Use Dexron II or greater for your tranny.
