As long as you guys know you're loosing lumens (usable light) the higher up you go you're fine. OEM is 4300K (about 3200lm) color temperature and now 5000K (2950lm) dealer offered temperature. These are special color matched capsules (for replacing blown bulbs or pairing up used bulb that have has gone through the colorshif process over their lifespan etc).
BTW....6000K is rated at 2800lm which puts out the same amount of usable light as the Hella 90MM H7 halogen projector. Anything lower than this (i.e 6000K HID bulbs and up) really is defeating the purpose of upgrading to HID from halogen. But as long as you're doing it for looks and are ok with it than its fine.

first of all. I brought the 7000K is because I have saw my friend's stock HID started to change into some not-so-white color after like 15-30 mins (NEW G35) so I decided to get something will not change as much and will last longer with the white color... That is what I think and why I buy this 7000K HID kit....
And second. Jason,, I got this kit for $250,, a frined of mine brought it for one month and decided to change, so........... I think I will keep it...

my HID'S
Yo i just put some HID's into my Lex....(Es200 1992) but they were wwayy off balance, vertically. so i adjusted the vertical level, but they still dont go straight. they only light up the area right below my car . its crazy....i have no idea why this happened. im tryin to get a picture up of this to show everyone....do you have any idea why it would happen? lemme know

i had an hid kit in my car too...(4100k phillips) the reason that they are off balance is becuase for a halogen set up they only have ~1000 lumens to play with so they designed it to concentrate most of the light into 2 vertical hot spots. now glare is gonna suck for others becuase of the chrome bezel/reflector/shroud.... but yeh.. i hate to say it... but yes.. i releaized this.. and made the move..... 2 pennies and maybe a nickle....

This may be true in a reflector hid setup but not in a halogen projector like my boy Steve has... lol... we glued the 9006 adapter to the bulbs in the wrong place making the focal point of the hid arc different from the focal point of a new 9006 filament bulb... we're getting a new set of bulbs soon and it should fix it... will post pics too...
what halogen bulb are you using that has 1000 lumens?
