Maybe it is an Amp, its a 92 and Here are Some Pics Of It, www.cardomain.com/id/lexguy026, but not pics of the strange box, ur prolly right its an amp, thnx for rippin me a new one my lexus brothers lol

Mine is a 92 and I just checked my trunk and the only black box i found was the cd changer, but nothing hanging from the trunk itself.

Well this has been an interesting topic....
On a side note i found a strange box type thing right behind the armrest in the middle of the backseat...
I dont understand the purpose in the thing you can pull out this long black bag which is attached to the back of the seat...strange!! I suppose it could be good for hiding things tho

Lexguy026, I thought you said it was hanging from the trunk by the rear speakers. I have one of those bag type deals on the back of my rear seats aswell, it folds out in to the cabin, right? But i have no idea of what it is also!!
