Where can I get a wood and leather steering wheel for my 97. I want the one the 2000 and 2001 have. Also, want the gear shifter.

You can order that through any Lexus parts counter...the wheel is a direct fit since it mounts the same from 97 to 01. You can try www.l-tunedparts.com or better yet call them directly. Ask for Bobby and they should be able to quote you a price. As for the shifter...are you talking about the ****? That's just a twist on/off operation. You can order that same part from them as well. Or if you want, e-bay or even the local junk yard.

Oh I thought you had a gated shifter looking for the wooden ****...just re-read that you had a 97. As for the Overdrive button on the 97-01 on the side, there is no wood trim for that whole shifter assembly, just leather wrapped. And the button is color keyed plastic to the interior. If you're looking for the wood piece bezel, you can order than through parts, order a wood applique, ebay or obtain one from salvage.

The OEM wood wheel can go upwards $300 and up for a used one from a junk yard. OEM will cost you an arm and a leg from parts counter.

you could also try American Stitches - they can redo your existing wheel for @ $500.
