Default Yellow Optima battery fitment?

I went to 4 audio shops to get the Yellow Optima battery but they told me my power cable doesn't fit because it's too short. They told me I need different connectors and stuff. Does anyone here run the Optima Yellow battery in their 97-01 es300?If so what modifications did u have to do with the cable wires and etc.?

yup.. the yellow doesnt fit, the red fits alright.... i would use the red over the yellow any day.. only use the yellow if you add another battery in the trunk for just the audio equipment

Not entirely true. I was able to fit my yellow top by cutting the holder at the corner to allow the cable some freedom....worked out great!

*shrugs* it would be safer to just use longer cables

I don't understand what you mean by "safe"...all I did was cut a 2 inch by 1 inch into the battery holder to allow the cable to travel a bit. I can't see how this can be unsafe...

I have a yellow top in my 2000 ES. Just recently purchased several weeks ago. I sent Optima an email and they recommended I purchase the yellow top over the red top based on the equipment I am running in the car. The battery for our car is the D35 model which just came out in August of this year. It is suppose to be a direct fit, but is a little smaller than the stock battery. It comes with a tray that, when placed under the battery, will cause it to fit securely height wise with the stock battery bar holder and connectors.
