hey anyone know where i can get an oem hid kit for an 02-04 es from and how much it will run me? Salvage yards etc?

OEM HID kits for the '02-'04 ES can be found on Ebay once in a while (most of the time w/out the bulbs or ballasts) Salvage or junk yards are worth a look, even though those ES are hardly spotted in those yards.

i'm sure you can trade your soul for some HID from a dealer. The price would be insane.

about a month ago, I asked Lexus dealer for an H.I.D kit for my RX300 and they say that it cost 1357.64 for each side, it comes with HID BULBS, BALLAST, AUTO LEVELING MOTOR, THE HOUSING. They said that they wont' installed it for me, got to find some place else to do it, becuase of the wireing harness is not available and that it voids the warranty. I suppose that the price for a new HID for RX and ES isnt' very different.

Agreed. Just about every Lexus dealership will make the same remark. Also, it is not very cost-effective to purchase and install a brand-new factory HID system into your non-HID car. IMO, you are better off getting an aftermarket HID kit for a great price (e.g. look into the XenonDepot group buy currently going on in the CL Vendors forum). The results may not look exactly like that coming from a factory HID kit, but compared to your halogen lighting system, it will be night and day.

Kind of scary that the Lexus dealer won't install their own products into their own car! I agree that you should look elsewhere & get something different.
