Default 3VZFE and 1MZFE?

What's the difference between these two engines? Will a 3VZ catback exhaust work on a 1MZ?

3VZ cast iron
1MZ aluminum block

Two totally different engines that are not related other than having the same displacement.

Different exhaust systems. If you can get the catback for the 1MZ-FE to fit i.e. Greddy Evo, you are good to go. Otherwise, if they have different piping size and flanges, you're out of luck.

Shucks, I found a 3VZ Tanabe SMR and thought it might work...

The 95-96 ES300s have the 1MZ right? So if I find that jdm 1MZ Greddy Evo, will it fit?

You don't have to find a JDM Greddy Evo, they're made specifically for MCV20 cars. Listed under V6 Camry and Solara. I've seen it installed on a Gen1 Avalon before. I don't see why it wouldnt fit a Gen3 Camry or 94-96 ES with some or a little modification.

Would you be able to direct me to a site or place that sells 1MZ catbacks?

You can try here www.wholesalehyperformance.com/exhaust.html

or you can order from Stillen also here in SoCal. www.stillen.com

There's only a few catbacks in existence currently for the 97 and up 1MZ-FE, the Greddy Evo, Apex'i World Sport and JIC Magic Bullet SUS & Titanium. There was a Tanabe G-Medallion for a short time but didn't sell very well.

Only problem is, I have the 96 1MZ.
Any major differences?

The differences w/the 96 1MZ and the newer 97 and up are very little other than HP output 188 vs 194 (192 CA versions), 96 has a different MAF than the 97 and newer, but the 96 1MZ-FE shares the same revised ignition coil packs where the rear bank of plugs piggy back from the front 3 coilpacks for power. The 94-95 version had 6 individual coilpacks for each plug. The issue you may run into is length. Obviously the MCV20 chassis is wider and longer by an inch or 2 compared to the MCV10 which you have. I haven't really studied under the chassis of the MCV10 and 20 in comparison to the location of the cats, resonators O2 sensor locations as well as the exhaust pipe routing and of course the hangers. You may want to find a friend w/an MCV20 and make some measurements if possible. That's the only way you will find out if it will fit or not.
