Hi,
I am interested in getting just a car to use for local transportation for a coupple of years and i came across a 1997 ES300. The Lexus dealership wants about 12000 for it with 50k miles. They are sopposelly doing new things on it such as work on the AC, Oxygen sensor, and other micellanious work. Any suggestions on weather this is a good deal or what I should know about this model? Also, i read somewhere that this car has a factory sub. Is there any way that you can remove this subwoofer and replace it with a better one, or use the wiring to wire it to a new sub? Thanks!

My 97 ES300's my first car. And minus the dealership being underhanded on a couple things [ NOT A LEXUS DEALERSHIP, don't worry ] the factory 97 sound system was plenty enough thump.

If you look around these forums and CarDomain, there are a few guys who put a normal sub & amp setup piggybacked onto the factory audio using the stock sub.

$12,000 for a 97 ES with 50,000... 12k seems kinda low for the mileage it has on it. Check the title, see it if it's clean. I bet there is a catch.
