Default Tired of yellow headlights? Check out mine after a cleaning (with pics)

My headlights have the usual road grime on them. Some headlights get worse than others with a dark, yellow film, that actually blocks the headlights when they are on. I cleaned these before but didn't take pics.
Well it was cleaning time again. Check out the pic. You can see that the passenger side headlight is much darker than the drivers side one.
It looks like someone punched my ES in the eye! Well this is how it looks now!
Like new!!! So what did I do?
The key to this problem is Meguiars PlasticX! All you need is that and a clean, soft cloth (I used a sock) and a couple minutes of time.
You can see the dirt on the sock that it rubbed off the headlight!! DIrections are simple, apply to cloth, wipe on, rub hard and rub off with a clean cloth. I am not sure of the price, Meguiars sponosrs SELOC so I got it free but I am sure its not more than $5.

Looks great Mike. Can't go wrong with Meguiar's Plastx; it definitely brings amazing results to the headlights and tailights

Hot damn, I'm going to get me some of this.
Did you only clean the outside? Mine is really yellow, and I'm wondering if you can get inside that plastic and clean or what...

Yes, its all on the outside. RX owners are discovering this as well as most all LExus owners. THe headlights are near clear, a Lexus trademark. What happens is dirt and grime gets on it and build up and the lights and sun bake the dirt. So it requires a deep cleaning every once in awhile.

Its like claying your cars before waxing. A huge difference.

I second that ! Being faithful to Meguires since I bought my ES - I've never found this on the shelf.

Checker Auto carries the entire line of Meguiar's product. Simply ask the clerk to special order if they don't have it in stock.

if they dont have it in stock...
another option would be to just buy the finest grit rubbing compound you can find
it works the same as long as the rubbing compound isnt too coarse, because then you are in trouble.

i got my PlasticX at Bebo's car wash chain if you guys have that locally about $8.. works great as illustrated by 1SICKLEX. But seems like the yellowing comes back in a few weeks esp if your car stays outside nite and day. Will applyng a layer of wax on the lens after the polishing help or recommended?
