Fog lights switch Mod
#31
Just use a fuse tap. Why would you want to connect it to the tail light fuse? If you do it that way, you can only run the fog lights with the parking lights or low beams on. If you tap into the 12v accessory fuse, you can run the fog lights completely independent of everything. Very simple that way.

If anyone still reads this thread; i tried going about it today, but for the life of me could not get a quick disconnect to plug into the slot for prong 2. 3 & 4 went in without trouble. Ideas?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I bought a 2000 es300 a few months ago and did this mod and it works great for keeping the foglights on. My problem is that when I turn on headlights or they come on auto the fogs turn off, they are only on with drls. Is there something I am missing or is this normal I would love for them to be on with low beams also. Thanks from the Newbie

I would love to do this on my 04 330. I want to be able to choose the DASH between Auto and ON on my switch so it turns on the fogs only.
I'm comfortable opening things up, I just don't know whether someone has already done the mod on my model.

I just did this mod but I removed just as fast as I did it.
I don't see the point to have fogs on all the time. I'd like to turn them off. With my switch
Also they go off once you turn your headlights on. High or low
Maybe I did it wrong but I'd like to have control of them and have them on with low beams and day time running lights

My thoughts were to simply do a re-wire entirely...bypassing the OE relay entirely. Coupled to a "generic" wiring kit, like they use for light bars, and these vendors can easily match up the OE switches from other toyota's.
Sort of reinventing the wheel, but it's not a huge amount of work, the harness is dummy proofed, and you can choose wherever/whatever switch to use. The toyota-swtiched ones are few bucks more, but if you're happy with a generic, they're under 10$

Fog Lights Switch Mod (so you can switch on the fog lights anytime)
This mod is for ES300 models '97 to '01.
DISCLAIMER:
Try this modification at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any personal injury/death, mistakes/long term effects and/or damage to property.
The procedure posted here is based solely on my experience with my 2001 ES300. Wiring and connectors can vary widely between models and years so always verify your car before making any connections.
I used BananaGS mod as starting point it is very helpful. However, you will not need to disassemble anything except may be the coin box to reach to the fuse block and connect the wire (see below).
It is also very important that you check if it works for you (in step #3).
Step 1:
Locate the fog light relay. You can put your finger on it and feel clicking sound when you switch on the fog light while the headlights are also on.
