Default Used ES Maintainence Question

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a 97-00 ES300. The certain one I ran across had about 50,000 miles on it and it was a 98. I was curious, if i wanted to keep the car, and have it for 4-5 more years and drive it out to 110,000 miles, which parts in the car would start to need replacing. I know this is a hard question to answer, but just in general, what goes bad on these cars in that amount of mile range? Thanks for all your help and i hope the desition for an ES300 is a good one!

Sam

they really arent. I bought my 96es300 in 2000. I had a 150 mile commute daily and plus i have a lead foot. So for a car to last as well as this one I cant complain. Just check the service advisories and owners of the year you want to buy. I know there have been some issues with the late 90's es300. Just keep checking. My 96 is great though. btw if you want some added fun add a cold air intake to the one you get. Im still happy about that upgrade.

Sam, do a search on this forum & if you want, check out www.lexusownersclub.com as well. A timing belt change, water pump, tune up, tranny flush & just general maintenance items like oil & filter changes, coolant flush etc.........if you spend cash for 'preventitive maintenance' you will save money in the long run. Get the newest ES you can afford also. Good Luck!

Ide agree with that accessment. When you do the major maintenance work(80-100k). expect to spend in the range of $800-$1200.

If all those items are done, generally speaking you should have reletively trouble free & enjoyable service from your ES.
