Question

Hi all, nice site everyone has here! I have a 96 ES and my question is: Every now and again when i hit the gas (I live in NJ and must hit it hard to survive) the car jumps into gear kind of harshly. For instance if I'm getting onto a highway going say 30mph and need to jump up to 70mph or so, it won't shift as smooth as when driving under less stressful conditions. Is this normal? Any info would be appreciated!

Default hmmmm

thanks for the welcome! What would a trans tune up involve? I just had my 70,000 mile lexus visit. They changed out belts and things of that nature. This doesn't happen often, but none the less it happens. I treat my car well accept for hard accelaration at times. I ALWAYS use overdrive on the highway and viceversa through town. I usually stay away from the other power button next to the shifter as I am not really sure when is the best time to engage it. Thanks!
